After receiving all the requisite clearances, the authorities have begun work for the much awaited underpass at Sector 71 in Noida. Traffic police have made alternative arrangements for a smooth flow of traffic in the area. Officials claim that although the contract for the development project is for eighteen months, they expect to complete the project in just eight months. The underpass is expected to relieve the traffic pressure between Noida Extension to Noida City Centre and going further towards Delhi. Those coming from Delhi to Noida using the Expressway or the Blue line metro will also find some respite.

A 59-year-old is fighting for his life after a speeding imported car rammed him head-on at Jaipur’s JDA circle. Later identified as Abhay Chand Daga, the man is currently in a critical condition and is being treated at SS hospital. In this CCTV footage, the car can be seen hitting the rider at a high-speed, he is then flung several feet into the air before hitting the ground. Fortunately, the driver of the car immediately took the victim to the hospital. This is the second such incident in the past week, two brothers were killed by a speeding car at JDA circle three days ago.

The study

Mangal Pandey was born in Nagwa village in the Balliya district of Uttar Pradesh on 19th July 1827. He was a soldier in the 34th Bengal Native Infantry of the British East India Company at the tender age of 18. His mutiny against British officers triggered the 1857 War of Independence. Pandey revolted against his officers on March 29, 1857, while stationed at Barrackpore in Bengal. Mangal Pandey revolted because of a new cartridge that reportedly contained fat from cow or pig meat and had to be bitten off before being loaded into the rifle. From a religious point of view, this was unacceptable for Hindus as well as Muslims.

Government enterprise Central Electronics Limited (CEL), has handed over ten solar-powered rickshaws to the rickshaw pullers at IIT Delhi. The solar rickshaws will be operated within the IIT campus. CEL has designed and fabricated specialised flexible solar panels for use as roof of the rickshaws. These solar panels provide continuous charging to the batteries throughout the day and effectively double the distance that the rickshaws can cover daily. This reduces the need for the physical effort by the rickshaw puller, as well as an increase in his daily earnings. Meanwhile, the rickshaw has a higher battery life as the system avoids frequent deep discharge cycles.

The CSMT-Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express derailed between Maharashtra's Kasara and Igatpuri ghat section early Thursday morning. A trolley of second coach from rear of 12598 CSMT-Gorakhpur Antyodaya Express derailed, however no casualty was reported in the incident. Central Railway chief spokesperson Sunil Udasi said, 'Nobody was injured in the mishap.' He further said that the middle and Up lines were available for rail traffic. Meanwhile, the Central Railway provided tea, biscuits and water to the stranded passengers and all of them were put on board a special train to their respective destinations.
